Curiosity. Compassion. Science. Hope.
Hi, I’m Amy.
If you had told me twenty years ago that I'd someday become a somatic life coach, I probably wouldn't have believed you.
For most of my career, I worked in public health. I spent 24 years helping solve complex health challenges, leading large teams, managing multi-million-dollar programs, and living and working across Africa for nearly two decades. I loved the work because it combined so many things that energize me: caring deeply about people, asking questions, looking for patterns, solving problems, and making a meaningful difference.
Those same things still get me going today.
I've always been curious about what helps people thrive. I believe good science and genuine compassion are natural partners. The more we learn about the brain, the nervous system, and the incredible ways our bodies adapt to life's experiences, the more hopeful I become. We know so much more than we did even a generation ago, and we're continuing to discover just how remarkable our bodies truly are.
Along the way, I also learned something personally.
I know what it's like to build a meaningful career, move across continents, become a parent in unexpected ways, begin again, and discover that pushing through – over and over again – has a cost. Sometimes determination serves us well. Sometimes our bodies quietly start to let us know they're asking for something different.
That realization eventually led me here.
In 2024, I became a Certified Professional Life Coach and began training in Somatic Experiencing®, a body-centered approach that completely changed how I understand stress, resilience, and lasting change. It helped me recognize that lasting change isn't about pushing harder. It's about creating the conditions that allow all of the parts of us – mind, body, and spirit – to move forward together.
Today, I bring professional coaching and Somatic Experiencing principles together to help people move toward the lives they want to create.
I especially enjoy working with people who carry a great deal: professionals balancing demanding careers, parents caring for everyone else, and people navigating life's many transitions. Together, we'll clarify where you want to go, explore what's getting in the way, and trust that meaningful change often grows one seed at a time.
Outside of coaching, you'll usually find me singing, enjoying nature, spending time with my family, binge watching a favorite show, and enjoying being back in Minnesota after many years abroad.
Thank you for being here. Whether our paths cross for a single conversation or a longer season, I hope you leave feeling encouraged, understood, and reminded that there is hope.
